CD Projekt Red Reports Major Profit And Revenue Growth Year-On-Year

CD Projekt Red has released its earnings report for 2022, and it’s looking good for the Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developer. The company boasted a 66% increase in net profit, driven by an increase in revenue, and a decrease in CDPR’s overall operating costs.

The Polish company reported a revenue of 953 million PLN ($222 million USD) in 2022, up from 888 million PLN ($207 million USD) the previous year, and a net profit of 347 million PLN ($81 million USD), up from 209 million PLN ($49 million USD) in 2021. Despite the upwards trend, CDPR hasn’t managed to hit the same level of success it saw in 2020, when Cyberpunk 2077’s release caused a massive revenue spike that took its yearly profit to a massive 1.15 billion PLN ($268 million USD).

Halloween Ends' Kyle Richards Originally Wasn't Going To Be In The Movie

One of the surprising highlights of 2021’s Halloween Kills was the return of Kyle Richards as Lindsay, a character she played in the 1978 original. While so much of the Halloween franchise has been about the aftermath of that horrible night for Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Halloween Kills reminded us that she wasn’t then only one terrorized by Michael Myers back then. With that in mind, it made perfect sense when it was revealed that Richards would figure, once again, into the final chapter of this current trilogy of films, Halloween Ends. As revealed by the actress herself, though, that wasn’t originally the case.

“I was originally not in Halloween Ends,” Richards told GameSpot. “They wrote me into the already written script after Halloween Kills.”

While, ultimately, Lindsay doesn’t play a major role in the new film, Richards notes she was “just grateful to be a part of it in whatever capacity.” What’s more, she was plenty happy to “ge…

Bonnie Ross, the head of Halo development studio 343 Industries, is leaving the company. She said on Twitter that he had planned to stay with 343 until the November launch of Halo Infinite’s Winter Update, but has decided to leave now to deal with a “family medical issue.”

“I am incredibly proud of the work everyone at 343 Industries has done with Halo Infinite, the Master Chief Collection, the Halo television series, and so much more,” she said. “It has been an honor to serve alongside the team for the last 15 years and to be a part of a universe that I love.”

James Wan In Talks For Creature From The Black Lagoon Reboot

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Creature from the Black Lagoon, a film that introduced one of the few Universal Monsters who hasn’t been endlessly remade. But the Gill-man may finally be getting a chance for a comeback, with reports that horror veteran James Wan is in negotiations to direct and produce a new Creature from the Black Lagoon remake.

Via Deadline, Wan’s take on Creature from the Black Lagoon will be “a grounded modernized retelling that leans into visceral horror while paying respect to the original classic.” In the 1954 original, Ben Chapman and Ricou Browning played the Gill-man, a creature of unknown origin who ran afoul of an expedition in the Amazon. The creature also displayed a very obvious infatuation with a young woman named Kay Lawrence (Julia Adams), who did not return his affections.

Two sequels to the original film were made, but there hasn’t been a new Creature from the Black Lagoon movie in nearly six decades. Numerous directors have a…

Call Of Duty Warzone Could Use More Than Just A New Map

Call of Duty’s long-teased Warzone event may finally come to fruition on April 21, with a nuke threat that might bring an end to the map of Verdansk as we know it. A fresh battleground would definitely spice things up, but I think Warzone needs more than just a different map.

Originally, the rumor mill was brewing with talks of Warzone getting a completely new, Cold War-themed map based in the Ural Mountains. Now, leaks and teases have surfaced to show Warzone is likely getting a 1980s-themed reskin for Verdansk. Regardless of whether we time travel back to the ’80s or get surprised with a completely new map, there are some ways to improve the quality of life for Warzone.

For being such a huge contender in the battle royale space, Warzone can oftentimes feel very stale. Personally, I expected more drastic changes to be implemented with Black Ops: Cold War’s integration, but we mostly just got the Cold War weapon pool added into the…

Lawbreakers PS4 Review

Ever since the introduction of jump pads in shooters, an FPS that offered greater freedom of flight was inevitable. Lawbreakers feels like one such result. There’s a moderate learning curve to maneuvering and surviving in-air and within the myriad anti-gravity spheres of the game’s arenas. When you do manage to adapt to sniping on the fly or boosting down a corridor with strategic purpose, the resulting outcomes can feel sublime even if you rarely receive the post-match MVP award.

Even with the possibility of vertical movement, FPS maps are wasted if there aren’t adequate weapons and abilities to play with. Lawbreakers addresses this challenge through an intelligible diversity in the armaments and specialities spread across its nine classes. There’s a reasonable assortment of advanced finesse fighters, beginner-friendly gateway classes, and well-rounded combatants who are useful in any map/mode combination. Even after about 100 matches, it was pleasing to s…
